Father's Day Celebration I can't believe that Father's Day has officially only been around since 1972. It took 4 presidents and a Maine senator to eventually make it official. Mother’s Day had been around for roughly 60 years by then. Sonora Smart was the first person to propose Father’s Day to celebrate her Father who was left to raise his 6 children when his wife died giving birth to their 6th child. It was then proposed to complement Mother’s day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting. Today Father's Day is celebrated on a variety of dates around the planet and typically involves gift-giving, amazing dinners to fathers, and family-oriented activities. To help in support of Father’s day young members of the YMCA went to church wearing a rose: a red rose to celebrate a living father, and a white rose to celebrate a deceased one. Interestingly enough Father's Day was in jeopardy of disappearing from the calendar while Mother's Day was met with eagerness, Father's Day was often met with snickering. Not all fathers are similar! OK, so you’re thinking what in the world can I get my dad for Father’s day? I don’t live at home any more and haven't a clue what he wants. You aren’t definitely considering purchasing a gift card to Lowe’s or Home Depot are you? That’s about as personal as a another baseball hat. You may not live at home any more, but you probably have a good idea of what your dad likes – is he a beer fan? A chocolate lover? How about a wine connoisseur? I’ve learned that on the web there are loads of gift that men would genuinely like for a present that are quick to order. I know, maybe you always thought “baskets” were for women, but once you have a look at a beer tub, you will have a new opinion. If your dad’s personal preferences are for wine, you’ll notice that they can be delivered not only a fine wine of your choice, but also a great set of complementary foods that make a very nice package. These gift baskets for a man would be the perfect gift for dear old dad on Father's day. So let’s say your dad is a tea drinker and he is also a big snack fan. All you need to do is order Colorado Wine Gift Basket for a guy that fits the bill. The most important part of the whole gift is your message on the card attached so be witty and wise. Some on-line gift baskets companies will even custom design that gift basket to really fit your dad’s desires. http://www.basketsbyrita.com http://www.basketsbyrita.com/Colorado-Wine-Gift-Basket_p_238.html http://www.twitter.com/basketsbyrita http://www.facebook.com/basketsbyrita
